How to Make a Blueberry, Coconut and Oat Smoothie
Making a smoothie is not rocket science right? Simply add all your nutritious ingredients into your high speed blender, whizz it up and you have a glass of goodness in no time. Best off all, you can have your smoothie ingredients pre-prepped and frozen in stasher bags. Healthy breakfast in minutes!
Ingredients for a Blueberry, Coconut and Oat Smoothie
I love to use a combination of fresh and frozen blueberries for this smoothie. For this recipe blueberries is the star of the show, but you can also add a combination of blackberries, raspberries or strawberries.
Simply blend the blueberries with coconut milk and gluten free rolled oats, that provides extra complex carbs and fibre plus keeps you fuller for longer. Win!
I decided to use coconut milk to blend as this creates a delicious creamy and thick smoothie blended with the oats. To get that smoothie bowl consistency you can use chilled coconut cream.
Extra ingredients I use that almost ALWAYS lands up in my smoothies is chia seeds, my very favourite ingredient for protein and antioxidants and your choice of protein powder and a little vanilla essence. Lastly, sweeten the smoothie with your choice of honey or syrup. I am not a huge fan of protein powders much (not found one I love as yet) – but I do love adding some collagen powder.

- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- 1/2 cup fresh blueberries
- 2 tablespoons organic rolled oats
- 1/2 cup coconut milk
- 1/2 cup coconut water to thin out (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 1/2 teaspoon chia seeds
Ingredients

- Place all the ingredients in your high speed blender and blend until smooth. Use coconut water to play with the consistency.
- Garnish with fresh or frozen berries.
